SC beaches to be reopened

South Carolina’s beaches will be reopened next week, according to a source.

State Sen. Stephen Goldfinch said Saturday afternoon (via his Facebook page) public access to beaches will reopen next week.

Gov. Henry McMaster is also is considering reopening retail stores.

On Facebook, Goldfinch of Murrells Inlet wrote: “I’d like to thank the Governor for hearing the cries of most South Carolinians. The waterways are our sanctuaries and it’s a perfectly responsible way to social distance. Thank you Governor for listening. We appreciate your work and thoughtful responses to this crisis.

"Now, for all the knuckleheads planning parties on the sandbars and islands. Don’t. I will personally see that you’re prosecuted to the full extent of the law if you mess this up for the rest of the law abiding citizens of South Carolina.”
