Lexington native Morgan Nichols crowned new Miss South Carolina

Morgan Nichols, a 22-year-old Clemson student from Lexington, won the Miss South Carolina crown. The competition was held Saturday night at the Township Auditorium in Columbia.

It was Nichols' first time competing in the Miss South Carolina organization event. 
Nichols sang "Bridge Over Troubled Water" for the talent competition of the pageant. She will receive a $60,000 scholarship with the title and compete in the Miss America Pageant in September.

Friday night,  Kellan Fenegan of Lexington was crowned the new Miss South Carolina Teen,  She is a River Bluff High School student.
