White Knoll beats Brookland-Cayce to win RBI tournament

White Knoll jumped out to an early lead on Brookland-Cayce Suuday evening, and cruised to a 12-3, win.

The win gave the Timberwolves the crown in the 12th Annual Red Bank Invitational preseason high school baseball tournament. It was the fourth RBI title for White Knoll. The Tmberwolves also won it in 2009, 2016, 2017, and this year. 

White Knoll, 4-0, outscored their opponents 49-9 on the way to the 2020 title. 

Levi Dunn pitched 4.1 innings for White knoll to pick up the win. White Knoll had 8 hits and BC had 5. The Bearcats committed 6 errors to WK's 2. Both teams left 9 runners on base. 

Brookland-Cayce started eighth-grade pitcher BJ Etherridge. The Bearcats gave up at least one run in each of the 7 innings of the game, surrendering 3 in the sixth and 3 in the seventh. 

Etheridge recorded 5 strikeouts. 

Reign Lybrand had 2 hits and 2 RBIs for the Timberwolves and Dylan Johnson had 2 hits, also. 

Ty Mashal had three quality at bats for the Bearcats. Brookland-Cayce scored one run in the second, one run in the third and one in the fourth.  

White Knoll defeated Westwood to make it to the title game. BC beat Cane Bay to make the final.
