Water line break compromises road near schools

Posted

Three Lexington 2 schools will run on normal schedules Wednesday following early dismissals on Tuesday due to a broken water line.

Cayce Elementary, Busbee Creative Arts Academy and the Lexington 2 Innovation Center - all along Bulldog Boulevard, off the 12th Street Extension in Cayce - dismissed students early.

High schoolers from the Innovation Center returned to their home high schools, while Cayce and Busbee students were sent home by car or bus.

Parents were being notified just after 9:15 am this morning of the dismissals.

Bottled water has been delivered to the 3 schools to use while the water line is repaired, a District 2 spokesperson said.

Breakfast and lunch will be served on normal schedules.

Lexington County, lexington school district 2, district 2, cayce
