The Town of Lexington has published a list, detailing the number and reason for traffic crashes.

In April, there were 56 vehicle collisions in Lexington. Of those, 33 were on the town’s roads, and 23 were on private property.

In March there were 80 collisions. The number of incidents for March and April have been far below the yearly average of 120 collisions each month.

The top two collision intersections were: Sunset Boulevard at Corley Mill Road, and South Lake Drive at Middlebrook Drive.

The top causes of collisions were: failure to yield right-of-way; distracted or inattention; and following too closely.

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday were the top days of the week for crashes. Most frequent times were 6 a.m. until 9 a.m. and noon until 4 p.m.
