School District 1 purchases more land
Lexington County School District 1 Board of Trustees approved the purchase property in Gilbert for $125,000.
The 0.84 acre property, located at 4169 Augusta Highway, is owned by Joshua Schuck and Mary Oxendine, according to tax records.
District 1 spokesperson Mary Beth Hill said the site is next to land purchased by the district in September 2017 for a new elementary school.
"The purchase of the site provides additional frontage and improved sight lines for parents coming to and from the school," said Hill in a press release.
