The Lexington County Blowfish will hold its rescheduled Irish Heritage Night at 7:05 pm Thursday at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
Presented in part by O'Hara's Public House and the Greater Lexington Chamber & Visitors Center, the 7:05 pm contest with feature a performance from the Connick School of Irish Dance and the flags of Ireland will wave thanks to the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
During the game against the Macon Bacon, the Blowfish will announce the official date of 2020 Shamrock Parade in Downtown Lexington.
The Blowfish have also imported from Team Ireland their starting pitcher for the game Slater O'Brien.
"I'm definitely pumped up," O'Brien said. "It's an exciting opportunity because I'm always grateful to celebrate my Irish heritage. And it's even better to be able to celebrate it with the Blowfish."
Thursday's contest will also make Coastal Plain League history with the first-ever female umpire in a league game. Greta Langhenry earned the assignment as a CPL umpire on July 11th after a round of call-ups to Minor League Baseball.
