Lexington Boys and Girls win at Airport, Tuesday night

The undefeated Lexington boys defeated Airport by a score of 68-47 Tuesday night in West Columbia. 

The Wildcats remain undefeated and improved to 9-0 while the Eagles drop to 1-6.

Lexington Boys and Girls win at Airport, Tuesday night

The undefeated Lexington boys defeated Airport by a score of 68-47 Tuesday night in West Columbia. 
The Wildcats remain undefeated and improved to 9-0 while the Eagles drop to 1-6.

Lexington shot the lights out to take a first quarter lead by a score of 13-5. Jalen Canada sent Airport into the second quarter with some momentum by hitting a buzzer-beating 3 to end the first quarter. 
The Wildcats took a 35-16 lead into halftime and never looked back. The Wildcats were up 51-36 at the end of the third quarter and did not let up. 

The leading scorers for Lexington were Ryan Green and Bradley Foulks with 12 points each, Jonathan Corley with 11 and Mason Carver with 10.

The Eagles were led by Raevon Allen with 12 points and Canada with 10. [

Lexington plays host to Dreher Saturday at 8:30 p.m. to close out the inaugural Auto-Owners Insurance Showcase. Airport travels to River Bluff on Wednesday. 

In the girls' game, Lexington improved to 7-1 with a 45-44 win over Airport. The loss dropped the Lady Eagles to 4-4. 
Airport went into the half with a 20-18 lead, but the Lady Wildcats came back and took a 33-28 lead into the fourth quarter. 

Airport never quit, and made things very close at the end.. 
The leading scorers for Lexington were Olivia Thompson with 18 points and Brooke Foulks with 10 points. The Lady Eagles were led by Amea Ziegler with 13 points and Jayla Jamison with 12.

The Lady Wildcats play host to Dorman at 5 p.m. Saturday at the inaugural Auto-Owners Insurance Showcase.

(BOYS)

Irmo 51, Newberry 37

Trevez Caldwell scored 17 points, Dylan Williams had 10 points and 8 assists and Bostun Rivers had 7 rebounds for the Yellow Jackets (5-3).

They play host to Chapin Friday.  

(GIRLS)

Lexington 45, Airport 44

University of South Carolina commit Olivia Thompson scored 18 points and Brooke Foulks added 10 as the Lady Wildcats improved to 7-1 on the season.

They will play host to 3rd-ranked Dorman as part of the inaugural Auto-Owners Insurance Showcase at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Irmo 78, Newberry 42

Jayla Lovett scored a career-high 19 points, Ehrial Wagstaff added 16 and Madison Dipico had 11 for the Lady Yellow Jackets (4-3).  

They play host to Chapin Friday.
