Former state champion birdies final 3 holes to tie for 9th

Lauren Stephenson is headed to the US Women's Open.
The former Lexington High School state champion and University of Alabama All-American earned a berth at the KPMG Women's PGA championship on Sunday. Stephenson shot a final round score of 68 to finish tied for 9th place at even par.
In winning a spot at the golf major set for Dec. 10-13 at Champions Golf Club in Houston, Texas, Stephenson birdied her last 3 holes to earn the exemption.
