The latest S.C. HIgh School League realignment will apparently deliver on its promise of change.

Chronicle Country schools which, pending appeals, will be most affected are Irmo, Brookland-Cayce and Pelion. All 3 schools will move down in classification based on the 45-day enrollment count which only includes grades 9-11.

Irmo will now compete in Region 5-4A with Airport, Aiken, Midland Valley, North Augusta and South Aiken.

Brookland-Cayce is headed back to Class 3A where it will compete with Gilbert, Swansea, Strom Thurmond, Orangeburg-Wilkinson and Fox Creek in Region 5-3A.

Pelion is also returning to a familiar setting in Class 2A. It will rejoin Region 5-2A with Barnwell, Edisto, Silver Bluff and Wade Hampton.

Batesburg-Leesville also finds itself on the move in Class 2A. It will head to Region 4-2A with Gray Collegiate, Eau Claire, Columbia, Saluda and Newberry.

Alll remaining Class 5A schools in Chronicle Country - Lexington, Dutch Fork, Chapin, White Knoll and River Bluff - will remain in Region 5-5A.
