The River Bluff wrestling team will move to the Class 5A Lower State finals of the S.C. High School League tournament.
The Gators defeated White Knoll Monday night 46-27 in The Swamp.
After the win, River Bluff head coach Evan Moxie credited his Region 5-5A rival.
"They are a good team," Moxie said.
The Gators also defeated the Timberwolves during the regular season.
"It's tough to beat a team twice," Moxie said.
He also said White Knoll head coach Kyle Kimrey did a good job with his team.
Kimrey characterized the Gators as "tough." He also said River Bluff was well-coached and it was hard for his team to match up with them.
"They are good," hed said.
He said his team is young and learned a lot from competing in Region 5-5A.
"It's a tough region." said Kimrey, who will now turn his attention to the individual state competition.
River Bluff will now seek to earn its 2nd state title appearance in 3 years Wednesday at home against Summerville. Moxie said he'll take Tuesday to get down to weight and "correct a couple of mistakes."
