White Knoll broke the tie, Saturday, recording a 45-40 win over Lexington in high school basketball.
The game, played at the neutral site of Irmo High School, was a tie-breaker to determine the 3rd seed out of Region 5 -5A.
Devin Stone and Jalen Ray were the top scorers for White Knoll with 10 points each. Adin Daniels led Lexington with 16 points.
The Timberwolves set the pace in the 1st quarter and jumped out to a 11-7 lead.
In the 2nd quarter, the game was slowed after White Knoll's L.J. Curry suffered an injury. No immediate report was issued of the nature of the lower leg injury, but Curry did not return to the game.
At the half, White Knoll was up 23-19.
In the 3rd quarter, the Timberwolves played strong and looked to be pulling away, outscoring the Wildcats 11-5. At the end of the 3rd, White Knoll was up 32-24.
Lexington managed a bit of a rally in the 4th quarter, outscoring White Knoll 16-to-13. But it was not enough as the Timberwolves held on for the the win.
