Boeing Co. wil move production of its 787 Dreamliner jet to South Carolina.
The changes will close the 787 production line in Everett, Wash. which has been splitting final assembly with Boeing’s plant in North Charleston, The Post and Courier reported.
The consolidation will begin in mid-2021, the company said.
Only 6 of the wide-body jets will be built per month next year.
Gov. Henry McMaster said, "South Carolina is open for business. We are committed to helping Boeing - and businesses large and small - grow and prosper in our state.
The move "is a testament to our hardworking people, and to the fact that companies know they can find long-term success right here in South Carolina," he said.
