Cayce conducts "Stroll on State" as part of revitalization strategy

Posted

On a beautiful South Carolina winter night, the City of Cayce presented “Stroll on State” between Lexington Avenue and Railroad Street, Tuesday.

It was a showcase event and was in conjunction with Cayce’s revitalization of State Street, said Cayce Mayor Elise Partin.

The “Stroll” was an effort to bring “vibrancy” to the area, said Partin, and celebrate new businesses, artists, Cayce’s Art District and the previtalization of historic State Street.

Partin said the “Stroll” is a replicable event for other South Carolina municipalities. It was sponsored by EngenuitySC, with the Knight Foundation, as a part of Competitiveness Week.

The businesses in the area that participated were Piecewise Coffee Company, State of the Art Gallery, and Swatch GX (graphics.) Members of the Cayce Art Guild were on hand, too. Tickets were handed out. To get a free beverage from Henry’s, Steel Hands Brewing or Piecewise Coffee, three hole punches were required on the ticket.
