Lexington County had only 268 jobless claims

Initial SC unemployment claims dropped by 218 last week from the week before.

The 4,884 claims were down from 5,102, representing the 2nd straight week of fewer claims.

Lexington County had only 268 jobless claims

Initial SC unemployment claims dropped by 218 last week from the week before.

The 4,884 claims were down from 5,102, representing the 2nd straight week of fewer claims.

The S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce reported:

- Lexington County had 268 claims.

- Richland County had a state-high 491 claims.

- Greenville County had 471.

- Horry County saw 343.

- Charleston County 327.

759,693 claims have been filed since March 15.

State and federal benefit payouts were more than $4.38 billion.
