SC officials should not get their hopes up.
Boeing is bringing all its 787 Dreamliner production to North Charleston.
But the plant will actually produce fewer Dreamliners.
Boeing lowered the rate several times this year, citing the pandemic's crippling effects.
Most recently, the rate was lowered from 6 to 5 of the jets a month.
The company has set the date for its start for March, the Charleston Post and Courier reported.
That means Boeing's highly-unionized Dreamliner production line in Everett, Wash. has only a couple months left before the shift.
But, due to ongoing issues with a production flaw found in some 787s, work related to the 787 will continue on the West Coast.
