Some of my friends would rather get a traffic ticket than go to a baseball game. Shame on them but they will stand up and shout over this grand slam home run.

Batter up for baseball stew

Some of my friends would rather get a traffic ticket than go to a baseball game. Shame on them but they will stand up and shout over this grand slam home run.
1 1/2 lb stew beef
1 med. onion, diced
4 carrots, sliced
5 potatoes, sliced
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 (12 oz) can V-8 juice
Cut meat in small pieces, removing fat. Put meat in bottom of greased casserole. Add layers of onions, carrots and potatoes. Add salt and pepper. 
Sprinkle with sugar and cornstarch. 
Pour V-8 juice on top. Cover casserole with foil. Bake at 250° 4 hours.
