HELP SAVE A LIVING DINOSAUR

Carolina Wildlife Center needs your help

Posted

Carolina Wildlife Center has a rather unusual patient – a pelican.

Being a few hours from the coast, they rarely if ever admit coastal wildlife.

It didn’t take long for this magnificent beauty to steal all of their hearts.

Every inch of this bird is a masterpiece – the hook on his beak, cute little feet, incredibly soft gular pouch and breathtaking feather patterns.

"As excited as we were to meet this amazing bird, we were equally heartbroken to find that he has a broken wing, and a fish hook in his belly," a center worker said.

Removing the hook requires a specialized surgery by an out-of-state veterinarian who has the proper equipment and extensive knowledge in avian surgery.

This surgery is not cheap.

Help give this incredible animal a 2nd chance with a donation to his surgery.

Contact the center at director@carolinawildlife.org or call (803) 772-3994
