West Columbia Mayor Tem Miles raised more than $700 in personal contributions for the United Way Campaign. For his effort he got a pie to the face.

“I love pie, but I love the United Way more,” Miles said after Kelli Ricard, West Columbia special events manager, pressed the pie into the mayor’s face to the delight of onlookers. The ceremony was held behind West Columbia City Hall Friday afternoon.
