Do real men change diapers, cook and wash dishes?
The stay-at-home dads in Chapin say "yes!"
These brave 25 men are superheroes for their wives and kids.
Glen Kornhauser, a retired police officer and dad of 2 boys, wanted to connect with other stay-at-home dads.
He created the Facebook group Chapin Stay at Home Dad to share ideas and to have man-to-man adult conversations.
Yes, stay-at-home moms understand.
Planning dad's night out, organizing playdates and balancing housework, cooking, cleaning, and kids are all new challenges for the 25 men on the FB page.
Loren Hyman stayed at home after being laid off due to covid. He said he has learned to be more patient and being at home has changed him for the better.
Ashton Chapman, owner of Dad with a Dish LLC, said, "I have been a stay-at-home dad with my daughter since she was born. Today she is 4 years old, and I have definitely learned a lot about her and myself."

Stress, rewards
Loren Hyman conquered the potty-training challenge for his 3-year-old daughter.
"We had [diapers], but I literally did not know where they were. I was told her mom didn't buy them at the store. So I sat her on the toilet, and it happened," Hyman said.
"She never looked back."
Hyman has successfully taught a child to ride a bike, potty trained another, and pulled one's first tooth. He says his wife is jealous but appreciative.
Kornhauser said, "when schools were on the hybrid schedule, I had enough of overseeing my 2 boys, I found myself having to escape to the driveway.
"I stood in my driveway until a neighbor finally walked by. When you're with your kids so much, you just crave adult conversation.

 Cooking, cleaning
Kornhauser, Chapman and Hyman all like cooking, but say cleaning is sometimes the hard part.
"I've found my priorities as far as cleaning are much different than my wife, though we still have the same goal," said Kornhauser.
"For 13 years, she was the stay-at-home mom, and I have a greater appreciation for the things she did and handled when she was home. She understands the difficulty I faced between juggling work and family."
Hyman's challenge was administering the housework, school, kids and cleaning. He said, "We developed a schedule, and it's changed for the better, but knowing what to expect allowed all of us to succeed."
"The most rewarding aspect is knowing my child is safe and happy," Chapman said.
"Seeing that smile on my daughter's face brightens my heart every day.
