Lexington High School honors spring student athletes
A line of vehicles paraded onto the Lexington High School campus Wednesday as part of its recogniton of spring student-athletes. Vehicles with seniors drove past the football stadium where their names were read over the public address system.
Among those parents in attendance was Marcy O'Brien. The mother of 2-sport athlete Luke O'Brien, whose lacrosse season was limited to 5 games, Lexington District 1 helped provide a sense of closure in lieu of not having a final game.
"It was definitely a different experience, but they definitely got (a memorable ceremony)," she said.
The proceedings closed with the playing of the alma mater. Similiar events took place at fellow Lexington District 1 schools River Bluff, Gilbert and White Knoll.
