This spread is so easy and fast that anybody can do it. It’s a nice treat to take as an appetizer to any party or to have at home when friends stop by.

Chutney Spread
1 pkg.    (8-oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 jar    (9-oz.) chutney
½ cup    chopped green onions with tops
½ cup    coarsely chopped, dry-roased peanuts
½ cup    flaked coconut
        candied cherry wedges
Spread cream cheese into 7 ½-inch-diameter circle on a serving plate. Spread chutney over cream cheese, then top with rings of green onion and peanuts. Sprinkle coconut in the center. Arrange candied cherry wedges like a flower on coconut.
Serve immediately or refrigerate up to 1 hour. Serve with crackers or toast. Cut with cookie cutters for a unique spread. Yield: 1 (7 ½-inch) cheese round.
