Another group of students at B-L Elementary School received brand new sneakers courtesy of “Educate My Sole” April 27.
The initiative was co-founded by Dawn Staley, head coach of the USC Women’s Basketball program.
Congratulations to Mrs. McCleskey’s third grade class, Mrs. Bouknight’s fourth grade class, and Mrs. Rodgers’s fifth grade class on being selected as the school winners for the third nine weeks.
“Educate My Sole” is a contest for students in third through fifth grades that places emphasis on attendance, academics, behavior and physical fitness.
At the end of each nine weeks, a rubric based on these core areas is used to determine which class in each grade level is that period’s winner.
Each student in the winning classroom receives a brand new pair of sneakers. If there is a tie between classes, students in both classrooms get a new pair of shoes.
