Be wary of superbugs

Posted

It’s that time of year again.
Sickness season is here.
When you are sick, what treatments work for you?
For me, I get to a point of no return and seek an antibiotic.
I’ve taken too many prescribed medications.
You may laugh and say I’m joking – but I’m serious.
Lots of people’s regime includes over the counter medications.
It costs less and saves a trip to the doctor.
You may be saving yourself from the “superbugs.”
“Superbugs” are drug-resistant bacteria or fungi.
If you don’t use your antibiotic for the required time, even if you feel better, you still have the sickness.
It is important to complete any prescribed medications.
Your body can become resistant to an antibiotic with the help of these superbugs.
If you take medication prematurely, it cannot fight the infection.
Lots of people will also stock up on anti-bacterial products.
The FDA stated that the use of antibacterial soaps have no effect and acts the same as if you were to use soaps that were non-antibacterial.
Another way to protect yourself this season is to stay up to date with vaccines.
One vaccine prevents the same infections a whole course of an antibiotic would treat.
Don’t be overzealous when it comes to your sniffles.
