This is a recipe that does not use Vidalia onions from my hometown of Glennville, Ga. But it is tried-and-true. Just remember that you cannot substitute anything else for the Velveeta cheese. The taste would not be the same.
This recipe has been around for years and years, yet some of the younger folks do not know it. So I decided to share so you can try it and see if you like it.
CHOCOLATE FUDGE
1 lb. Velveeta Cheese
1 lb. butter
4 lbs. powdered sugar
1 cup cocoa
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups chopped nuts
Melt cheese and butter together, stirring constantly.
Sift powdered sugar and cocoa into a large bowl. Pour butter and cheese mixture over sugar and mix well. Add vanilla and mix in. Stir in chopped nuts.
Pour into pan and refrigerate. Cut into squares to serve.
