For years, Pastor Ken Jumper and his staff at The Harvest attended a Global Leadership Summit.
They found the nationally simulcast summit at Columbia International University so inspiring that in 2013 they decided to host it at their church.
Participation grows each year, and this one shouldn’t be an exception.
It was originally started just for church leaders, many of them business people.
Based on their experience, they felt that their own key staff members would benefit from hearing the speakers.
I spoke to Jemme Hinson and Jonathan Reynolds who had attended The Harvest Summit.
They said the speakers include leaders from clergy, business, education, government and non-profits. Some such as John Maxwell, Craig Groeschel and Bear Grylls are well known.
Each has unique skills and ideas to encourage and motivate you to be a better person. Jemme, a pre-school teacher, was surprised to get much from it. She said everything she heard was relevant to teaching and working with others. She added that the ideas can be applied anywhere in life.
Jonathan felt that it helped in parenting and other areas of life.
The summit takes business leaders and clergy out of their daily routine to meet others who share similar challenges.
The free exchange of ideas is a major source of growth and learning.
The Global Leadership Summit will be August 8-9 at The Harvest Church, 4865 Sunset Blvd., Lexington.
