Love your dog, too

This month is “walk your dog” awareness month.
I have a Labrador Retriever mix that I adopted.
This upcoming March will be our 2-year adoption anniversary.
She is like another family member in our household and is so adored.
Dogs can also help get you motivated to exercise.
Take your furry friend for a walk. This helps you and them get the exercise needed to stay healthy.
56% of US dogs are obese, according to a 2017 clinical survey by the Association of Pet Obesity Prevention.
That’s 50.2 million dogs across the nation - an outrageous number.
Taking your dog on a walk or run with you can be something you look forward to.
Walking can help improve physical and mental health for you both.
To stay safe while walking your dog:
• Wear bright colors so others can see you.
• Have your dog wear a reflective collar.
• Get a retractable leash so you’ve got room to run or walk.
• Carry water for you and your dog.
• Wash your furry friend’s paws in case they’ve walked through anything harmful.
Keeping active will help you and your dog stay healty. Get moving!
