NATURCHEM INVITATIONAL HOME RUN DERBY
The inaugural Naturchem Invitational Home Run Derby took place Saturday night at River Bluff High School. The event featured 12 sluggers from the team participating in the 4-day tournament which ends Sunday. A total of 66 home runs were hit. With outside companies pledging $50 for each home, a total of $3,300 plus nearly $550 from raffle tickets sold was raised to go towards St. Baldrick's Pediatric Cancer Foundation, a national organization focused on conquering childhood cancer. Alex Urban of River Bluff was one of the 3 finalists along with Alberto Osuna of Mauldin and Jake Laffin of Lugoff-Elgin and came away with the Home Run Derby title with 10 homers.
