Charter offers free broadband and Wi-Fi

Spectrum is offering free internet access to K-12 and college students.
 
Spectrum owner Charter Communications will offer free broadband and wifi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have broadband at any service up to 100 mbps. 
 
Charter is a broadband provider and cable operator with more than 29 million customers in 41 states.
 
For eligible low-income families without school-aged children, Charter offers low-cost broadband programs with speeds of 30 mbps.
 
Charter will also open wifi hotspots for public use.
 
Charter’s network will ensure government offices, 1st responders, health care facilities and businesses – maintain connectivity.
 
The network sustains maximum capacity during peak use in the evenings.
 
A surge during the day is well within the network’s capabilities to manage. 
 
Installation fees will be waived for student homes.
