Lexington PD collecting fans for those in need

Lexington Police Department is offering free box style fans for those who in need of a way to cool down this summer.

The “Free Box Fan Program” has been ongoing for over 10 years and this continues largely from the generosity of Town of Lexington business and individuals with donations of fans.  

Though this program has been focused on Town of Lexington residents, when possible fans have also been available to those in need in the greater Midlands are.

Major Matt Davis, along with officers of the Community Action Team (C.A.T.), received 2 dozen 20” box fans from Lowes Home Improvement in Lexington.

Through July, Lowes Home Improvement in Lexington is offering the Pelonis 20-inch fans at a 25% off discount if they are purchased and donated to this program.

Those who purchase fans at Lowes Home Improvement in Lexington can leave their donation at the store where an officer will pick them up. Donations can also be made during business hours at the Lexington Police Department, 111 Maiden Lane in Lexington. 

Only new in packaging fans can be accepted.

Those in need of a box fan can come to the Lexington Police Department for assistance.
