Thousands of dollars donated to Lexington shooting victim memorial

Posted

The Lexington community is rallying together to support the family of a woman who died in last week's shooting on Augusta Road.

Alexis Azarigian, 25, died Feb. 25 from injuries she sustained in the Feb. 21 shooting in Lexington.

The man who shot her, Joseph Randolph Henry, 28, is now facing murder charges.

A gofundme account has been created to help offset the medical costs the family incurred while Azarigian was on life support. It has raised $4,961 since being created Feb. 27.

Azarigian was an organ donor. Her family made the decision to allow doctors to remove "her heart, liver, kidneys and other organs so she could save the lives of others," according to the gofundme page.

If you'd like to donate, the Alexis Victoria Azarigian Memorial Fund can be found at https://www.gofundme.com/alexis-victoria-azarigian-memorial-fund .
