West Columbia fall clean-up is Oct. 26

The City of West Columbia is hosting a city-wide clean-up day, Saturday, Oct. 26 from 9 am – noon, at City Hall, 200 N. 12th Street, West Columbia, SC.

Volunteers are encouraged to come to City Hall to pick up gloves, safety vests, and trash bags and head to the community space of choice or join in on the planting of the Fall garden.

The Community Garden Fall planting will take place behind City Hall. Seeds and plants will be provided. The garden is free and open to the public to plant, tend, and harvest.

A shred truck will be onsite. The following will be collected in the City Hall parking lot: tires (limited to 4 per household), batteries, electronics, computers, monitors, printers, laptops, microwaves, radios, phones, game systems, DVDs, TVs, and paint cans (limited to 4 per household) (must be filled with kitty litter, sand, or dirt to be accepted), aluminum cans, and scrap metal and appliances.

The West Columbia Police Department DEA National Prescription Drug Take-Back will collect unused or expired medications (no syringes or liquids):
9 am – 1 pm West Columbia City Hall - 200 N. 12th Street, West Columbia
10 am – 2 pm Walgreens – 1537 Charleston Highway, West Columbia; Bi-Lo – 2349 Augusta Road, West Columbia; Medicine Mart – 1300 Sunset Boulevard, West Columbia
