Fishing season is here in the Midlands.

Lake Murray Country announced Friday it was chosen to host to a Major League Fishing tournament.

The Wiley X Summit Cup has been in production, filming over the course of six days last week week. The event will air as six, two-hour episodes each Saturday afternoon on the Outdoor Channel beginning May 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. EDT. The schedule can be found at MajorLeagueFishing.com/tv-schedule.

The tournament brings nearly 30 anglers and a boost to the economy, according to officials. Lake Murray Country President and CEO Miriam Atria said Governor Henry McMaster will also featured in community segment of the show.

Registration has started for the 2021 Phoenix Bass Fishing League, presented by T-H Marine South Carolina Division which takes place this Saturday on Lake Murray.
