1 arrested, 1 more sought in West Columbia attempted murder

West Columbia police arrested 1 man and are seeking a 2nd in a Aug. 15 attempted murder, the department announced Thursday.
In the evening hours of Aug. 15, a shooting occurred on the 1100 block of Leaphart Street.
On Aug. 25, investigators arrested Juston Dewayne Lyles Erving for Attempted Murder, Criminal Conspiracy, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Violent Crime. Erving is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting bond. Investigators are still searching for 29-year-old Antonio Deon Dortch who is wanted in connection to this shooting. Dortch is described as a black male who is approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall, 195 pounds, with a cross tattooed on his forehead.
