State health officials reported 10 covid-19 deaths in the state Wednesday.
1 of them was in Lexington County.
The county death was a middle-aged individual.
The county had 56 confirmed and 1 probable case.
Richland County had 203 confirmed and 3 probable cases.
The Department of Health and Environmental Control reported 3 other county deaths dating back to Sunday.
DHEC also announced 1,636 new confirmed cases, 20 probable cases, 48 more confirmed and 8 probable deaths dating back to July 4.
Late reporting of these deaths is beyond DHEC's control but tends to make the deaths look like recent occurances.
DHEC said this brings confirmed cases to 87,117 probable cases to 455, confirmed deaths to 1,600, and 67 probable deaths.
As of Wednesday, 745,198 tests have been conducted in the state.
7,600 individual test results were reported to DHEC yesterday not including antibody tests.
21.5% tested positive as infected with the virus.
That means 78.5% tested negative as uninfected.
DHEC is able to resume reporting on hoispital bed use:
