1 Lexington County death, 2 Richland County deaths

Lexington County has 166 cases, Richland 160

39 confirmed  SC deaths and 4 probable deaths were reported Thursday.

1 was an elderly Lexington County patient who died Dec. 10.

2 were elderly Richland County patients who died Dec. 11 and 12.

Lexington County had the 2nd highest number of new cases in SC with 166 Thursday.

Richland County was 3rd with 160 cases.

Greenville continued with the highest in SC with 306 new cases.

Although Greenville has had the most cases daily all month, it reported only 2 deaths Thursday.

Spartanburg and York have had high case counts and each had 5 reported deaths Thursday.

The Department of Health and Environmental Control Thursday announced:

  • Confirmed and probable deaths: 4,484/359
  • Tests performed for South Carolinians: 3,207,401


Testing opportunities (scdhec.gov/findatest)

  • Testing opportunities available statewide: 317


Percent positive (scdhec.gov/COVID19dashboard)

  • 8,357 new individual test results reported statewide (not including antibody tests)
  • 24.2% tested positive as infected.
  • That means 75.8% tested negative as uninfected.
