Health officials reported 237 new cases of covid-19 and 8 more deaths in SC Sunday, 

12 of thenm are in Lexington County and 50 in Richland County.

12 new covid-19 cases in Lexington County

No deaths here but 1 in Richland County

Health officials reported 237 new cases of covid-19 and 8 more deaths in SC Sunday, 
12 of thenm are in Lexington County and 50 in Richland County.
1 of the 8 deaths was an ekderky individual in Richland County,
The other 7 were elderly individuals in Clarendon (2), Darlington (1), Greenville (2) and 2 middle-aged individuals in Colleton and Greenville counties. 
Department of Health and Environmental Control officials said this brings the total confirmed cases to 5,490 and deaths to 174 in SC.  
As of Sunday, DHEC’s Public Health Laboratory has conducted 14,029 tests with 1,801 positive and 12,228 negative. 
50,761 total tests have been made by DHEC and private labs.
4,940 hospital beds are available and 6,448 are in use,  a 56.6% statewide hospital bed use rate.
Evidence is increasing about the high rates of infection in people who do not have symptoms and don’t know they are infectious. 
This places everyone at risk of the virus or unknowingly transmitting it to someone else. 
South Carolinians are encouraged to stay home and minimize contact with people outside their households to prevent the spread of the disease.
