Student hospitalized for suicidal statements

Posted

2 more school threats were reported last week.
The 1st incident occurred Nov. 13 when a Dutch Fork Middle School student threatened to “shoot up the school and then hang himself,” according to reports.
The male student was reportedly upset at being moved to a new seat on the bus due to his disruptive behavior.
The student claimed he made the threats in response to constant bullying, reports show.
The student’s mother told deputies there is a handgun in their house, but that her son does not know where it is located.
The student was transported to Palmetto Health Richland due to the suicidal statements and was not charged.
The 2nd threat reported an 11-year-old male who attends Carolina Springs Middle School was charged with threatening students after deputies determined he made a statement about blowing up the school during class Nov. 14.
The student’s name will not be released because he’s under the age of 18.
The student was suspended and released to the custody of his mother.
His mother said there are several weapons in the house that are kept locked up. She said the student does not have access to them.
The student will appear in Lexington County Family Court at a later date.
