Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green Friday said a 2nd arrest has been made in local burglary and grand larceny cases.
Chief Green said Wednesday Frederick Michael Nerini, 42, of Lexington was arreted. Also, Friday he said  Cynthia T. Sallee, 39, of Leesville, was arrested for their involvement in several recent burglaries, grand larcenies, and vandalism cases.
A 3rd suspect, Andrew Thomas Goff, 34, of Leesville, is also wanted in the cases
On the afternoon of July 6 officers were dispatched to the Public Storage located at 4935 Sunset Blvd. and The Harvest, located at 4865 Sunset Blvd. in Lexington, due to both places having been burglarized, vandalized and multiple items stolen.
While at Public Storage, officers found that the exterior fence to the business had been cut and locks had been removed from several storage units. Numerous items were taken from the storage units to include fine china, carved animal figures, and crystal ware. Two trailers were also stolen and the value of all items taken from Public Storage was over $21,000.
While at The Harvest, officers found that an outdoor shed has been broken into and that lawn equipment, a golf cart, and other items had been taken which was valued at over $7,000.
During the course of the investigation, it was found that these incidents occurred between the dates of July 4 and July 6. Detectives were able to find surveillance video which showed multiple people being involved who were also seen driving three vehicles, including one truck that had stolen both trailers from Public Storage.
On July 9, images of the vehicles involved and the stolen trailers were shared on the Lexington Police Department Facebook and Twitter pages and quickly tips were provided to the detectives which identified the suspects who were involved in these incidents.
Detectives of the Lexington Police Department, working together with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, continued their investigation and interviewed Frederick Nerini, Andrew Goff, and Cynthia Sallee about their involvement in these cases. Detectives were able to recover all items that had been stolen which were being kept at two residences in Lexington County.
Frederick Nerini was arrested on July 11, 2020, and he has been charged with 2 counts of Grand Larceny and Criminal Conspiracy. When seen at Lexington County Bond Court, he was given a bond of $20,000 and remains in custody at the Lexington County Detention Center.
Andrew Goff has outstanding warrants for 2 counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, 4 counts of Grand Larceny, 2 counts of Vandalism, Criminal Conspiracy, and Driving Under Suspension 1st Offense.
Cynthia Sallee was charged with Grand Larceny and Criminal Conspiracy.
“The use of social media has been a powerful tool for the Lexington Police Department in quickly identifying those who are involved in crimes with the community’s help.” Chief Green said. “This allows detectives to work through cases with unknown subjects quickly and in these incidents in particular, detectives recovered nearly $30,000 of stolen property which was then given back to their owners. We really appreciate our community stepping up over and over again to assist us in keeping the Town of Lexington safe.”
Andrew Goff is thought to have fled the area and anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Payton at 803-358-7271.
