State officials say they can pay $300 in weekly unemployment benefits to eligible workers.  
The money comes from $44 billion President Trump diverted from federal disaster relief in August. 
With the number of unemployed Lexington County residents collecting jobless benefits still high, the money is running out, the Charleston Post and Courier reported.  
Lexington County unemployed residents won't receive more than 6 weeks of federal aid, according to the SC Department of Employment and Workforce. 
The money will be paid in an $1,800 lump sum.
Not all out-of-work claimants will be eligible. 
Only those receiving more than $100 a week in aid will qualify. 
Even for some of those eligible, there have been issues getting the funds.
DEW said claimants's problems in completing their ID verification when they tried to sign up for the extra benefits has been resolved. 
Problems accessing unemployment during the pandemic are nothing new.
With claims at historic highs, unemployment offices have struggled to keep up with the demand.
