Coffee with a Cop in Lexington tomorrow

Posted

The Lexington Police Department will hold its quarterly Coffee with a Cop event tomorrow.

Chief Terrence Green would like to invite the Town of Lexington community for a cup of coffee and conversation at Panera Bread, 5416 Sunset Blvd., Lexington on Tuesday, July 9.

Beginning at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 9:30 a.m., Chief Terrence Green, along with officers from each division, Chaplains and Volunteers In Police Services (V.I.P.S.) members will be on hand to answer questions, discuss issues or concerns, provide information on the many services and events that the Lexington Police Department offers the Town of Lexington community and enjoy a cup of coffee together.

A focus for Coffee with a Cop events this year will be to highlight and have in attendance a community partner who works closely with the Lexington Police Department.  The Courage Center will be attending this event and will have representatives to speak about the important work that their staff does within the community with young people and families seeking recovery from substance use.

Coffee with a Cop is an internationally recognized program with participating agencies in all 50 states to establish better communication between police officers and the public, establish trust and transparency and to build positive relationships in an informal setting.  Coffee with a Cop continues to grow with programs in Canada, Europe, Australia, Africa, and Latin America
