Congaree safe to swim again

The swim advisory issued Oct. 17 for parts of the Congaree River has been lifted.

The Midlands Rivers Coalition water quality samples taken at the Blossom Street Bridge site had shown elevated bacteria levels.

Follow-up samples showed bacteria levels met the state standard for swimming.
