Covid-19 cases, deaths continue dropping

No South Carolinians succumbed to the virus Saturday

We may have reached a pair of milestones Saturday.

- No one in the state was reported to have died of covid-19.

- It was another day when results showed more than 90% of those tested were uninfected.

The SC Department of Health and Environmental Control announced Sunday:

- 515 new confirmed cases and 7 new probable cases.

Lexington County had 17 new cases and Richland County 82.

- As of Saturday, 1,138,860 tests have been conducted in the state.

- 5,482 individual test results were reported to DHEC Saturday statewide.

- Of those,  the percent positive as infected was 9.4%.

That means 90.6% tested negative as uninfected.

- 24 additional confirmed deaths and no new probable deaths.

All 24 deaths occured earlier than Saturday, 3 as far back as July.

- Total confirmed cases to date are 129,484, probable cases 2,380, confirmed deaths 2,915 and 149 probable deaths.
