A week ago, SC announced its highest number of new covid-19 cases.

Today, the state eclipsed that number by more than 700 cases. 

3,217 confirmed and probable cases were announced Friday.

47 more South Carolinians lost their lives.

Our state has now suffered 4,673 deaths and exceeded 245,200 cases.   

1 elderly Lexington County death reported Friday occurred Monday. 

An elderly Richland County death reported Friday occurred Nov. 20.

Lexington County had 134 new cases reported Friday.

Richland County had 162 new cases reported.

Greenville County continues to lead the state with 535 cases.

Spartanburg is 2nd with 346 cases and York 3rd with 242.

  • Confirmed and probable cases: 228,261/16,965
  • Confirmed and probable deaths: 4,332/341
  • Tests performed for South Carolinians: 3,012,387

  • Testing opportunities available statewide: 304

Percent positive (scdhec.gov/COVID19dashboard)

  • 16,897 new individual test results reported statewide (not including antibody tests)
  • 18.6%  tested positive for infection.
  •  That means 81.4% tested negative as uninfected.
