Deputy injured in collision

South Lake Drive in Lexington was closed Saturday between Two Notch Road and Community Drive, due to a vehicle collision.

A Lexington County deputy was injured.

South Lake Drive was re-opened as of 12:30 .m.

The driver of the car who hit the deputy has been charged with DUI. He was identified as Michael Jordan Nichols. 

Nichols, 36,  hit deputy Roy Hall, who was driving down South Lake Drive near Paps Drive around 5:55 am.

Hall was seriously injured, but his injuries are not life-threatening. Nichols has been charged with felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury. Hall remains hospitalized.
