District 1 will feed children in need this summer

Lexington County School District One will participate in the Summer Food Service Program. It’s free for children 18 and under.

The program runs Monday through Thursday, June 11–July 26, with the exception of Wednesday, July 4.

The following locations will serve as meal sites this summer:

• Forts Pond Elementary, 7350 Fish Hatchery Road, Pelion, (803) 821-2500;

• River Bluff High, 320 Corley Mill Road, Lexington,

(803) 821-0700;

• Rosenwald Community Learning Center, 420 Hendrix Street, Lexington, (803) 821-1300;

• White Knoll Elementary, 132 White Knoll Way, West Columbia, (803) 821-4500.

Children must eat on-site. Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m. Lunch begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. Meals are first come, first served.

The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered through the S.C. Department of Education and Lexington County School District One. All meals meet federal nutrition standards.
