About 100 supporters of law enforcement and President Trump held a “rolling rally” a week ago.
SC Rep. Chris Wooten of Lexington spoke to the group at the Peanut Man Chocolate Factory & Coffee Shoppe.
"It was a great event to honor our men and women in law-enforcement," he told the Chronicle.
"We have to get the message out that these are truly heroes we need to take care of because they take care of us every day.
Wooten is retired military and a former SC Highway Patrol trooper.
Event organizer Pamela Godwin called the event a “joining of forces” between SC Women for Trump and Bridge the Blue. an organization that boosts public support for law enforcement.
“We have seen a lot of cops treated unfairly in the United States and we said, ‘no more, we are silent no more…we the people of South Carolina back the blue,’” Godwin said.
