Don't give up on getting a vaccine shot.

SC officials are cutting more red tape to deliver more vaccinations.

The Departments of Health and Environmental Control and Labor, Licensing and Regulation expanded the number of medical professionals who can give you a vaccination.

While vaccine is still limited here as it is in all states, the speed up will ensure enough trained medical professionals can give shots as more vaccine arrives.

This includes:

  • Professionals with current board certifications
  •  Accredited medical school students with documented training
  • Retired registered and licensed practical nurses

Those newly qualified must enroll in the federal program all providers must complete.

924 vaccine sites are approved and 286 of them have been activated.

More sites will be activated as more vaccine becomes available.
