How to get vaccine at Lexington Medical Center

Eligible are health care givers and those age 70 or older

Lexington Medical Center is providing vaccines to eligible individuals including those who are age 70 or older.

Eligible for the vaccine:

  • Anyone 70  and older regardless of health status or preexisting conditions

  • Admitted hospital patients 65 years and older who are not infected

  • Residents and staff of long-term care facilities

  • Healthcare workers (focusing first on frontline workers and those at high risk of exposure)

  • State/local government employees and contractors who are needed for the covid effort in SC

To register you need to request the vaccine from Lexington Medical Center, then register through the CDC’s (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) online portal.

You’ll need a valid email address.

  1. Fill out the Vaccine Registration request form.

  2. We will send your information to the CDC online portal.

  3. Within 24–48 hours, you will receive an email from the CDC containing a link to the Vaccine Administration Management System (VAMS).

  4. The link is unique to each individual and cannot be shared.

  5. The email will look like the email below.

  6. The link will direct you to a registration portal to complete a medical questionnaire and schedule your appointment for the vaccine. Email from field will read CDC no-reply@mail.vams.cdc.gov. Subject will be Please register in VAMS to schedule an appointment. Email starts with the logo for VAMS Vaccine Administration Management System and reads Hi Your Name, Your organization or employer designated you in a priority group for immunization. Please schedule an appointment with a participating clinic through the following link. Thanks, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC)

  7. Create a VAMS account and complete the online questionnaire.

  8. (Do not use Internet Explorer. Use Google Chrome, Safari, or other web browser.)

  9. Schedule your vaccine appointment through the VAMS online portal.

No walk-ins are admitted.

You must complete registration and schedule an appointment using the VAMS portal to be vaccinated.

Consult your health care provider about any medical concerns before scheduling an appointment.

The hospital staff will not be able to give medical advice at the time of vaccination.

If you have any trouble enrolling or registering for an appointment, contact the CDC Help Desk for assistance at (833) 957-1100 from 8am to 8pm or email VAMSHelp@cdc.gov.

Vaccines are administered at the main hospital campus at 2728 Sunset Blvd., West Columbia 

Due to vaccine storage requirements, physician practices are not able to offer vaccines at this time.

Parking is available in the surface lot in front of the building and in the adjacent parking garage.

You must bring your driver's license or other official form of identification to your appointment.

If you are a health care worker, you must bring credentials proving your Phase 1A status.

Guests and children are not permitted to attend vaccine appointments.

The only exception is for caregivers of patients who need physical assistance during the process.

Appointments may be canceled based on the number of vaccines received from the federal government.
