Judge releases GOP kingmaker on ethics charges

Posted

A once powerful Republican political consultant waived arraignment in a Richland County courtroom this week.

Richard Quinn Sr., father of former Rep. Rick Quinn of Lexington, avoided having 11 counts of perjury and one count of obstruction of justice against him read aloud and having to lodge a plea.

This is the 2nd time Quinn has been indicted by a state grand jury in special prosecutor David Pascoe's ethics probe.

Judge Jocelyn Newman released Quinn on a $25,000 bond because Quinn isn't considered a flight risk or a danger to the community.

Quinn can’t leave the state without permission.

Lexington County, richard quinn, rick quinn
